Online v.s. Offline

on October 8, 2015

How are we different online than we are offline?

Kelly: I make friends offline because I like to meet people in person. I don’t make friends online because you never know who they really are or if you can trust them.

Rachel: I spend more time offline than online.

Both: We don’t share as much/any personal information online and we share some/more personal information offline to our true friends or family. We do this because it is safer to not share personal information online.

Kelly: We also do this because we don’t want to get cat-fished. Cat-fished over here in America is when people act different online and are totally different offline.

Rachel: For example, someone can act really nice online and be a criminal in real life.

    G’day Rachel and Kelly,
I wondered what the term catfished was about when I read it in another student’s post. Thanks for explaining it to your readers.

I can’t flip your post to our magazine because it is a free edublogs blog or in your settings in your dashboard, you have it set for search engines not to find you.

Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to reply to us. We really appreciate it! We will make sure it is set for search engines but, our site is a free Edublog site.

I totally agree that we should meet people in person not online, I don’t want to get cat fish.
I learned that been online not safe and offline is safer.

Kelly and Rachel you are so right, people get cat-fished all the time. Did you know there is a show called cat- fish the people that do the cat-fishing have terrible reasons for doing it.In my dream world their would be peace stuff like cat-fishing wouldn’t exist but there is always someone that wants to do stuff like that, but why?
